Amanda Brugel
(February 27 2010 (February 27, 2010) - Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in the part of Montreal known as the West Island. Many people who don't know about the place mistakenly think that they are on the West Island extends westward from Montreal. It is actually it is the West Island includes everything westward of Lachine. Lachine. Amanda Brugel is said to be born on the West Island. But this is not true. Brugel was born in Courtice outside Oshawa Ontario. She aspired to be a professional dancer, but due to an explosive expansion, she outgrew every one of her dance partners. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed that in heels she was at 6'1 inches tall. After I outgrew my male partners I stopped. The majority of dancers who have been ex-dancers now turn to acting, and in the case of Brugel, it was the nudge of one of her drama teachers at the high school which pushed her into the right direction. Her teacher recommended her to audition for the role of Anne in their annual school production. She threw herself into it and ended up playing the character of Anne of Green Gables. She was given the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to study at York University's theatre Program which she completed on the 20th of January, 2000. She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel's been involved in more than 60 productions, both with big screen and smaller ones. She received the greatest recognition when she landed her part as Rita of the acclaim-winning show The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel was the sole Canadian part of the cast for the season 1 of the series and she was only seen on occasion.
